AssistedLivingFacilities.org also provides a detailed assisted living facilities cost page that breaks down base costs by state and many major metropolitan areas.

Assisted Living Facilities are owned and operated by both for-profit and non-profit organizations and can range in cost from $600 to $6,000 a month or more, depending on where you live. The cost of assisted living varies significantly between facilities across the nation and even within the same city. Some facilities also charge a one-time entrance fee. Fees are based on services provided to the resident as described in the Resident Agreement. Fees may be inclusive or there may be additional charges for special services. Costs are generally lower than for home health services or nursing home care. Fees for assisted living services are established by the facilities; they are not regulated by the state. All fees, services and conditions are detailed in the Resident Agreement. The Assisted Living Facilities Cost by State directory lists the average estimated costs of some of the most popular and largest assisted living facilities in the United States.
