Yes, the possibility can exist. Be an informed consumer! Review the assisted living facility contract for clauses which specify in what situations a resident may be asked to leave or terminate their residence. Most of the situations will deal with disruptive behavior, dangerous behavior, failure to pay, or the resident not meeting residency requirements for the facility as defined by the state. Remember, assisted living facilities are licensed at the state level, as such, the regulations and licensing requirements for assisted living facilities vary dramatically from state to state.

Should a resident exceed the ADL's in a facility, can interventions be tried inorder to maybe prolong their stay. And can families and others asked by the families come in and take over doing ADL's for their family memeber that the facility aides would other wise do? - CRae
