On Alaska Day, many groups come to entertain the residents of the pioneer home and all the events are open to the public. There is much history on the walls here and Alaska art. The pioneer statue out front is one of the finest in the state. I particularly like the gunstock with places inscribed on it, it inspired me to do the same with my cribbage board. When I play a game somewhere in Alaska, I inscribe the name of the town on my board.

When you are 65, sign up, so when you need assisted Living you are already on the list. 4 levels of care. Lots of activities and social environment. It is right in middle of town so residents can get around nicely. Beautiful grounds and landscaping. Wonderful staff.

It's a beautiful old building, with things constantly going on. The gift shop is fun!
