Anonymous Stating! 1. This facility truly cares about their Residents- caregivers do know their Residents! Currently stating they are usually dealing with the same Residents on normal basis. Which is smart because they can know when something is wrong or deal with problems with responses that is appropriate based on the Residents character. 2. The food- the cooks do care about the Residents and provide alternative options for diet restrictions, for example diabetic. Plus, from my opinion looking in, the food is great. Their last Christmas dinner was amazing. Having a guest plate was also provided. Which is so kind. 3.Caregivers- seeing the care they provide is nice! For someone that has to work their they must face difficulties and patience being tested. Seeing how they still manage to care is amazing. I know the job must not be easy. I see they tell jokes to Residents. Making the environment less dull! 4. Visiting- Visiting is very open! You can visit any time..leave any time! Plus they always had activities for the Residents in the gallery. I have seen yummy snacks given, music performances, old shows playing on the tv, and even some water painting. They have a separate activities worker which makes it reliable that it's being done. Things that can be worked on- 1. The smell, I know it can be difficult to manage but it would be nice for some nice room deodorizer! It's not horrific now but if that can be managed and brought up, It could make a big pleasant difference! I believe that would be a great investment. 2. The interior, some updates would be nice. Something fresher! Energizing! It could help mentally with workers and even Resdients. That's all I have to say. Thanks Brookdale. I hope for more positive things to say. I know everything can't be perfect, but the thought of having workers and even ED, trying to work on improvement is a good feeling to have. I hope we have good improvements this year! 2019!

If you have any intention of putting your loved one in this away as fast as possible and do NOT even consider placing them in this dump-heap. First of all, the staff is HORRIBLE. They do everything in their power to lie, cheat, and be deceitful in their everyday practices. The nurses are completely incompetent and can't even pronounce the names of drugs. Second, the ED only cares about her job and her income and will do anything in her power to throw residents out, and recruit residents who are willing to self-pay thousands of dollars and increase her salary. The lies were just atrocious. Each staff member would say "they never knew what happened because they were not on shift", Apparently no one is EVER on shift according to whoever you talk to so therefore level-of-care is completely neglected to the residents and they are left to the dust. My mom fell on multiple occasions and bruised her face and no one EVER knew how or why it happened. No med or incident reports are EVER filed. The food is TERRIBLE especially when family comes and eats on Family Nights. You'd rather desire eating a McDonald's Cheese burger than the garbage they feed you. They are constantly understaffed which results in 25-30 residents per caregiver. The turnover of staff is so quick that residents have no TIME to get to know their caregiver and are constantly confused in an already confusing state of mind. Even after specifically asking for my mom to be bathed by a female, they are so understaffed that they allow men to bathe her which went against my own requests. Brookedale North Gilbert is a place you just cannot trust. Unless you are ready for your loved one to die, then I would INSIST you look elsewhere. Shuck out the extra money at another Memory Care facility because you will be wasting your money month over month with broken promises, lies, neglect, and flat-out irresponsibility. If I could give this place negative 5 stars I would. It deserves to be shut down and put out of business.

Oh my, these reviews are terrifying. I am in search of a memory care facility and I am concerned with what I have read here.

I'm a former caregiver employee from this facility I was assaulted by a resident here and the ED brushed it off as a small incident like nothing serious happened no incident report writing down my statement nothing then and of course the resident was not sent out to a behavioral health facility to be evaluated because they don't want to loose the income this resident brings in. Now to all the problems I observed from this facility 1.we never had enough supplies such as gloves, wipes, briefs, trash bags because of the "budget". 2. Constantly understaffed to the point of 3 caregivers on the floor with over 50+ residents almost all total care I myself have had to care for 18 residents at some point and God forbid I go over my 8 hours and be late accuiring overtime providing care to that many people and the correct way is difficult and the medtechs assume that because they pass medicine they don't have to provide care they've been told meaning they "management" by me to hire more caregivers but refuse to do so again because of the budget; again they have income from over 50+ residents so they have the money they're just stingy and want to keepk it to themselves and don't want to pay for more staff. 3. Unlicensed caregivers on the floor at the moment there's 5 supposedly under certified caregiver guidence not true they are assigned residents and left alone as if licensed unless they are doing transfers they are not under surpervision of anyone the schedule posted is a lie it says they are under a certified caregiver supervision but is a lie that's just there incase state walks in. 4.When there's call offs they don't call other staff to cover causing the caregivers already there to be overworked and overwhelmed with work because they don't want to pay overtime so basically screw the caregivers on shift. 5. Caregivers are injured because of attacks by a resident or because of the heavy lifting involved they currently have 3 residents that need hoyer lifts we got them then they took them away from the caregivers because we were "not trained" and state was coming then we got them back by this time there's been more injuried. Then they are refusing to pay for the medical treatment they need or making it difficult for the caregivers from getting the medical treatment they shouldn't of needed in the first place. 6. Kitchen complaints by residents that the food is awful also trying to budget the residents food if resident doesn't want what's on the menu or what's on the always available menu they say they run out of that item so there is a strict budget even in this the most important need that these residents require to stay strong and healthy. So please don't take your family here your better off hiring a private caregiver this is not a good place to have them at as they won't get the proper care because of severe understaffed issue and all the reasons I listed consequence to me being assaulted and the matter not being solved correctly I've called corporate and labor commission as well and filed a claim with them.

I agree with Colleen -- do not put your family here ! My mother was left soaked on multiple occasions with promises that it would not happen again. Evaluations do nothing to change the care needed or given. More often than not, her dentures were not in for meals and she was improperly dressed. Supplies missing or in locked rooms when no one had a key over the weekend. Huge constant turnover of staff. Or constantly understaffed would be more appropriate. Complaints fall on deaf ears with the ED. She makes promises but never delivers or follows through, or responds to all of her emails.
