I was very pleased to see that my cousin, Kathy Evans was staying at Springdale Village. As a Eucharistic Minister taking communion to the residents I have had the opportunity visit other facilities. There is no comparison to other facilities in the area. There was pleasant staff. We were visitors from 2:30 pm to approximately 6:30. During that time the staff completed their responsibilities in a cordial manner and did not make us feel "in the way". The facility was clean and pleasant and odorless. I would highly recommend Springdale Village.

The place is clean. The PT and OT are good and encouraging. The sessions were short. 30 minutes to 1 hour Monday through Friday. The nurses are very knowledgeable and helpful. Where the place falls down is that they don't stress to the CNAs to mobilize the patients to their best ability often enough. The same thing happened at the hospital before he went to rehab. My dad was walking 75 feet in the hospital with a walker that was new to him after he had a stroke. Since they would only walk with him once a day and the rest of the day he sat in a chair, he got pneumonia, a UTI and skin breakdown. I brought him home early so I could mobilize him around 5 times a day. I found they didn't give the patients enough fluids to drink either unless we asked for it. He is starting to get stronger after a week at home. He will probably always need a walker for balance and he is getting used to that.

The place is amazing, they make sure my grandfather is being taken care of as comfortably as possible. They may seem short staff but that's because they are always busy. You can't put a price on their effort.

When I entered Springdale I was impressed by the cleanliness and the greetings by the staff that walked by. I stopped by the case management office and spoke with the social services director Kristi. She was warm and inviting. I'm a new vendor and she welcomed me and made me feel welcomed. We talked for a few minutes about the services we provide and I left feeling appreciated and heard. I look forward to seeing her and building a partnership with her. Great job Springdale!
