I'm so proud to be a part of such a loving, caring community. Brookdale Desert Ridge is the best. Our residents are our family

I was in an interview for a Nursing position with Cindy Borski the Executive Director and she stated that because I am a man and I am 6ft and 275lbs that all the residents will be scared of me. I walked out of that interview feeling less than a human being. On the job description they did not have a height, weight or gender requirement. This interview took place on 5/13/2019.

I really need to speak about my experience with Emeritus at Phoenix. I live in Chicago and my mother lives in Phoenix at Emeritus, and has been there for several years now. It was very hard when my Mom got to the point where she could not live on her own and had to have some assistance to be safe, and enjoy quality of life. I looked at many different places. I wanted the best for her and I needed to feel good about her new home, I have to say... I was feeling a bit frustrated. And then I walked into Emeritus at Phoenix. I was blown away by what I saw and felt. A place that was clean and comfortable....friendly. Everything I saw from the rooms, meals, activities, assistance and care, put me more at ease. The more I saw, the more I liked. And it seems they are always striving to get better. And then I met and got to know all the great people that would be there to help my Mom. I cannot express the my feelings enough about that experience. The entire staff is top notch, competent, friendly and willing to help in any way to assist my Mom and myself, and in doing so, I now consider them a part of my family. The day I had to leave my Mom and go back home was a sad one, but I felt so at peace that my Mom was where she should be. This is the first time I have ever given a review for anything, but I really felt I needed to say something about my experience. I want to thank everyone from Emeritus for taking care of my Mom and keeping her safe and happy. With all my heart...Thank you.
