Almost a year ago my mother needed memory care and needed out of a bad situation from another assisted living facility. My wife and I had toured many different places but they where all about money and looks, with little heart that added memory care units as an after thought while medicating to force compliance. Further, many of these places only wanted very high functioning residents and kicked them out once there illness was to much for them to handle. Sunshine Village was the first place we found that cared for there residents with respect that is truly tailored to memory care. Sunshine Village, creates interpersonal relationships with the love ones of there residents, which creates a feeling of relief that I found mom a forever home. If your looking for a place that can care for your loved one at all levels of memory care that ensures they are safe, respected, family and many more things then this is the place. I truly thank the Sunshine Village team for all they have done for my mother and family.

What an incredible place! A year ago Mom was in need of somewhere to live where her unique set of challenges could be met by a highly trained group of caregivers. Not only has the team at Sunshine Village been extremely good at managing all of her medical conditions, but they've also been caring for her with true and genuine compassion. Sunshine Village has relieved me of so much stress and worry. I feel that my wonderful Mom is in great hands. This is a very special place!

Ten years ago my brother suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left him with permanent memory deficits. I was living in Illinois at the time and knew no one in Arizona. After months in hospitals, my brother was ready to find a community where he would feel comfortable, safe and included. We found those things and more at Sunshine Village. 10+ years later, we are still there. My brother is engaged in the community and loved by the genuinely caring staff. He is clean, well fed and his stories are listened to by all the staff. I now live in Phoenix and work in the memory care profession. I see many other memory care communities during the course of my job...and yet I still choose Sunshine Village as the place to call home for my brother.

Sunshine Village is a Godsend! My mom has advancing Alzheimer's Dementia and we moved her into Sunshine Village in December of 2016. Mom's greatest fear was "moving into a home" (e.g. a nursing home as they used to be known - very institutional, long hallways, impersonal, smelly, etc.). Sunshine Village is NOTHING like that. Each cottage feels like being in your own home but even better because you have people there 24/7 who truly, genuinely care about the people that live there. Because it is an all-memory care facility, it doesn't have that "locked down ward" feeling that I found in other assisted living places that only had a wing dedicated to memory care. Here, because the whole facility is secure, the residents can go to the community center or out into the beautiful park like setting and just relax and enjoy life. Better yet, they have highly trained and extremely caring staff who do everything in their power to make their residents as happy and well-cared-for as they can be. All of this has brought a wonderful peace of mind to me knowing that my mom is being taken care of even better than we tried to in out own home. We are so thankful that Sunshine Village is taking wonderful care of mom!

I have worked at Sunshine Village almost 3 years as a contracted worker in the salon. The office staff is amazing. The activities folks are creative, happy, helpful, and fun. They always keep the residents engaged in something. From live music, bingo, food, arts and crafts, and many other things. The med techs, RN's, and caregivers are super special, kind people, with lots of compassion. They are always checking on residents and keeping an eye on what is best for them, and if there are any changes. The outside folks that come in are also fantastic, from doctors to physical therapist. I know that the head staff meets frequently to discuss residents and their needs, and they keep up on each and every person. I hope I never have to place my parents in a home, BUT if I had to.... THIS WOULD BE THE PLACE! Just pure AWESOMENESS!
