My 89 yo Mom has been a resident at The Villa On Sweetwater (Colten Adult Care) for the past 3+ years. After my Dad passed away in 2014, my Mom experienced a rapid decline with respect to her dementia. We were introduced to Colten Adult Care through a private agency and discovered a place; actually a warm and friendly home for her. The care Givers are extraordinary in providing care and attention in a warm and kind way. I am grateful for that. My siblings and I have an extraordinary peace of mind and confidence that our Mom is happy, comfortable, and cared for with love.

My mother has been at a Colten home for almost two years. My wife and I are very satisfied. We looked at many homes before choosing this one. We wanted a place where mom could get the best care and feel comfortable. We're there at least twice a week which provides opportunity for ample observation. Unless you want to hire a personal caregiver this is you best bet.

My mom was here for almost 4 years. The caregivers were amazing. They treated her with kindness and respect. I was so thankful that she could stay there even as her Alzheimer's progressed until she died. I appreciated the other women who lived there and liked that it was an all women's home. This place was such an answer to our prayers to give my mom a loving place that could care for her with such dignity and love.

My father in law was living there as he aged and was unable to take care of himself any longer. He loved the food and said people were good to him. If we needed anything, Peter was always there to help us. It was a warm and caring environment for him.

When it came time to place my 95 year old Mom, I relied on my experience to make an informed choice. Due to the nature of my work, I had been in many group homes and assisted living facilities over the entire Valley. I chose Colten Adult Care 2 years ago and know that I made the perfect choice. Some of the tangible requirements met by the Colten's are: 1. Safety first considerations 2. Employment longevity and professionalism of the staff 3. Cleanliness (super duper - it's the first thing Mom says if asked) 4. Organized activities by a hired activities director 5. Three 8-hour shift rotations by caregivers. 24 hour care by professionals. 6. Stellar recommendations by families of residents past and present Intangible gifts: 1. Mom is truly loved and cared for. 2. I feel a part of a bigger family. I always feel welcome when I visit. 3. Mom is grateful for the quality care. 4. I am kept up to date and in the loop as to what is needed for Mom. 5. As her only outside family source, I feel secure and have freedom, even to travel for extended times, without worry. Thank you to the Colten's and staff ?
