My mother lived at the Carillons from Jan 2011 till Dec 2015 she had dementia and was on assisted living which covered, giving her the medications she needed and escorts and security check to make sure she was ok....on Dec, 30th 2015 with the temperature between 32 and 40 , the maintenance man found my mother outside in the back of the property, at 9am, she was not coherent and was cold, they called the paramedics, they took her to the hospital and on Jan 13th 2016 she passed away from the exposure of the cold weather, at the hospital the doctor told me her temperature was 84 and "god only knows how long she had been exposed to the cold weather", this was total neglect on the part of the staff, she was to get medicine at 8am, so no one had done that, and no security checks or they would have known she was missing from her apartment, and she was not escorted, which was in the contract of services provided by when you are on assisted living oh and an extra charge ....when i was told that she was going to hospice i went to clean her apartment out and found all kinds of unsanitary items, food in boxes under bed that were all moldy and incontinence items soiled laying around, she was suppose to have housecleaning once a week, that didn't happen either....if you are considering a GenCare facility i would do a lot of investigating before signing a contract. the only reason one star is because you can't post till you choose one.
