I would like Brookdale corporate to address my issue. My mom has been at Brookdale for 5 years. My question is: how do you determine the rent increase (not to be confused with the personal service rate increase)? You send out a letter saying in order to continue the exceptional care we need to increase your rent. It is signed by the executive director. First off my mom is not getting exceptional care there and hasn't since Brookdale took over and cut the staffing in half on the floors. Secondly the resident director hadn't even seen the letter you sent out and put her name on. It said my mom's rent would go up by $350. My friend's husband who is right down the hall got a letter saying his would go up $300. When I asked the executive director about the difference in rates she said "well maybe it depends on the view, or the location of the room". When I asked her boss she said "well there were some inequalities before so we are just trying to even things out". Now I would like to hear directly from you. I will pay the January bill with the increased personal service rate, but I will not pay the increase in rent until someone tells me the truth about how you have determined who pays what. Thank you.

When we look at Brookdale we were impressed by the grounds as mom mom is a walker and we thought it would be a good fit for her as she really seemed to liked it when we took her there to see it. The Ra chel came to interview us so we decided to put mom in Brookdale. Before O start I want to sat there are a few good caretakers that made our short stay there as pleasant as it could be. We had minor problems that I went to Rachel with and it seemed that they weren't important to her and I feel that she just put a band aid on them instead of fixing therm. After putting mom there the friendliness wasn't there and it seemed she just didn't care about what was going on in the facility. Rachel never gets up from her messy desk to help. Well things didn't get betters I went to Melissa next with no results that then took me to upper management Zack.Zack, Melissa and I had a meeting which they tool a lot of notes and I felt that something would be done. Well stupid me with in 2 weeks my mother was assaulted and once again of course there is no record of it anywhere and no one knew anything about it. I want you to know that this happened on the 10pm - 7am shift where a lot of things happen that NO one knows anything about. We got a call from the morning shift that knows nothing about what happened because no records found anywhere and they weren't there. We fo over and are devastated to see a hand print on her face with many other bruised elsewhere. She hasn't talked much lately but did tell her husband that she was scared to death so we took her out that evening NEVER to return. It took 2 days for a call from Melissa to want to give me a update on the investigation really 2 days and to top it off that didn't happen either. We made a police report and Rachel was interviewed and how about this she now has times and suggested that it was a resident that many have done this another big band aid. I now made another apt. with Zack and the only thing he could say was I guess we dropped the ball two times ya think? There is definitely a problem with COMMUNICATION following through and actually caring for our loved ones that we put in their hands. If you want a clean room you have to do it yourself as all the cleaner does is wash the floor and washing clothes is another joke they are missing or ruined which gets expensive to replace. As you can see I am not happy with this place and look around and don't be fooled by the beautiful grounds this place is a nightmare and the upper management just wants money

I went there to fill out application for a caregiver job and every person there is very non professional Really where did they hire the director of nursing and executive director from Labor ready? the staff was acting like they where drunk and laughing so loud you could hear them outside and they are the upper staff management lmao ? I feel sorry for the residents but yet it is a memory care so and that crew they have as a management do not care about being professional u can tell

I give this three stars. Direct care staff are generally pretty good for my mom. They get 4 stars. The have some entertainment/functions, but not as many as we were told before we moved her in. What they provide is good, but not enough. 4 stars. Management is not responsive and not dependable to resolve the issues they themselves create. 1 star.

My mother is here & as much as they charge they could do a lot more for the clients. She's missed many appts because they have neglected to go down & knock on her door & pick her up. If they dont eat no one checks to be sure they are okay. They give them a activity calender, hello they memory problems, no one goes around to invite them to come to said activity. She sits in her dark apt & forgets to eat. For $5000.00 + amount they could do a lot better. They bring her medicine, they just hand it to her in a little cup,no one makes sure she's actually taking it. For this they charge $800.00 a mo. It looks good on the outside but what they offer for the fees is ridiculous. Suppose to be chef cooked meals, these chefs could never cook at even a 3 star establishment the food is terrible w/no flavor. If she orders a sandwich, wouldn't you suggest she have some fruit w/ that or a vegetable. Nope they do nothing. I am not happy at all if I had poa I would take her out so fast!!!!
