Sunrise does an amazing job caring for people with memory issues. We don't have the patience that they do on a daily basis. My mother-in-law fought us and people at the facilitiy tooth and nail with quite a vocal mouth her first two weeks. The staff was amazing with making her feel welcome and helping her adjust. She has been there 2 1/2 years now and loves it, loves the routine and the activities. I'm not sure why one review said there wasn't enough food. They go out of there way to assist residents and have plenty of food, will deliver trays to your room if you don't feel like going down for a meal and have snacks and drinks 24/7 for residents and there guests downstairs at the bar. They will also provide food when asked and have beautiful events that include family members. I would encourage anyone who has a loved one developing memory issues to move here. The staff is terrific friendly, caring and know how to deal with residents who all have different needs and levels of care. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful place like this for our mom.

The staff here are great. Very professional and caring. It is a big place with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and a beautiful garden in the back. The rooms are a bit small, but not so much that they feel cramped. The high ceilings help with this. The caregivers do a good job of balancing looking after the residents while giving them the independence to choose which activities they want to participate in. The meals are good, with several choices that vary each day. They offer exercise classes, a movie every night, basic computer training, group walks, games, etc.

When we first looked at the facility it was well run and well staffed. In the past year the staffing has dropped to one care giver for 12 people or more if anyone calls in sick. This has lead to reduced care and continuous problems. And sadly they do not seem to be concerned or care so no longer can I give them the higher rating I would have a year ago.

If you do not show up to dinner right at 5pm there is no food for you so you go hungry. They only server 3 meals a day no snacks. So if you happen to be late for a meal you go without. Also there was a recent incident of blind women falling and no one showed up to her ringing for help for 3 days.
