My parents have lived in Encino Hills for 2 1/2 years. Although my father has now passed away, my mother is still there and loves it. They have recently remodeled earlier in the year and its beautiful! There is another entry about roaches and I have not ever seen them, but I know they have a regular service that comes in to maintain. The facility is very clean and the staff are like our family. The meals are wonderful and the dining room is open all day long, they have several A+ professional chefs on staff and the best and most polite waitstaff. You really need to go and check this out if you are looking for a place to live or a place for your family.

This place is horrible! The brochure you get when you inquire about it is a study in misrepresentation. The sample menu looks great, but the food you actually get bears little resemblance to what they say they offer. They offer 2 choices every day and most of the time they both look gross. There are things that are always supposed to be available, but when someone asks for them, they're told they don't have them. Food is practically thrown down, served from metal carts, and is usually cold and/or under cooked. . The daily activities that are promised are largely done on video or conducted by one of the staff members, rather than hiring someone to come in and do this. Staff, for the most part, is nice, but treat everyone equally--as if they all have dementia. A person there who is of sound mind has to put up with being treated like a child. And how they bill you!! I have never seen an invoice like this in my life--multiple pages worth of charges that only an accountant could figure out. Rent is supposed to be a certain amount, but somehow the bill is always for much, much more. I've seen bills from other assisted living places and they are one page--rent plus incidentals--not page after page of indecipherable charges. Unless your mother or father has no idea about their surroundings, I would not recommend this place.

COCKROACHES!! Vintage-Encino Hills is hiding reviews from the public!! (Shame on you Yelp!) My wife and I was recommended some places to check out on Ventura Blvd because it is close to my wife's job. However, this place takes the crown for the WORST SENIOR HOME. The staff was nice, but the place was dull and boring. People were crowded in a room playing Bingo and the rooms were small. But to make matters worse I saw cockroaches in a few places in this place. I EVEN PHOTOGRAPHED A COCKROACH! When I asked a few people about bug problems, the staff got embarrassed and changed the subject. One person even told me they have been spraying for a year now and the cockroaches are still everywhere. We will never be back.
