My experience, Atria North Escondido is not a thriving and wholesome memory care environment for my loved one. There is a 9% rent increase pending for January 2019, a decrease in the staff-client ratio, poor food quality and paltry management staff. Don't be fooled by the "well prepared, potential client meal presentation." Make an unscheduled visit and request a meal with the memory care residents. Another concern is the normal daily routine of less than 1 hour of activity or engagement (the beautifully posted calendar is a charade) and the institutional environment of clients sleeping in their rooms or wandering the hallways. On the many occasions that I presented my concerns and questions to management I was always answered with a well scripted response and ignored until I kept asking for a viable answer

In the beginning of my mother's stay at the memory care section here the staff seemed great. But as time has gone by they've become increasingly difficult to communicate with. My mother can no longer have a private phone in her room and trying to reach her is next to impossible. If you don't live down the street from here I highly recommend you do not place a loved one here.

We moved my Dad, who is 89, into Atria North Escondido in October 2014. We researched and toured many assisted living and memory care facilities in north San Diego and found Atria to be a great fit for my Dad. The staff are friendly and helpful and the services provided for my Dad far exceeded our expectations. There are many outing and activities daily and my Dad enjoys many of them. Families are welcome at all the events and we feel like part of a big family when we go visit.
