My mother in her mid 80's lived and more importantly, thrived at the Fairwinds Woodward Park for over 6 years. Due to declining health and need for more support with her daily needs, it necessitated the move from her home of nearly 50 years. Health issues along with the move away from familiar surroundings were traumatic for her but the staff and atmosphere uplifted her spirits and I truly believe added many quality years to her life. Highly recommend

My mom has been a resident here for the last 3 years. It has been a great experience for her, with a friendly, diverse, and supportive community. The staff have all been friendly and helpful. Their restaurant serves great meals and they have great holiday events, perfect for families. Bingo, tai chi, exercise classes, movie theater, and on-site beauty salon are all available. They provide transportation to local shopping, hospitals, banks, and casinos, as well as some great excursions to San Francisco, Monterey, and others. All in all, a wonderful place.

We returned to Fairwinds just a short time before an announcement was made, of a lenghty remodeling. (surprise!!!) Dining room and much more were to be changed. Six months for the construction with food, closed dining room, and other amenities still paid for. Fairwinds has great, expensive, larger apartments, and other good features. I give it a generous two stars, because of a very monotonous, heavy carbohydrates menu, luke warm food. Breakfast is good, but slow. Thirty minute waits for seats, and 45 minute waits for food (because tables are dirty) are not unusual. Before moving to any senior home, have several meals, especially dinners. Ask a number of residents, at random, for their opinions, and read your renter agreement carefully
