My mother has been a resident here in Kingsley Manor for almost a year. It took two years of searching for the best senior residence for my mom, but we're glad we didn't settle for any less. Kingsley Manor is a prime example of when beauty, intelligence, respect, friendship and loving-kindness are brought together on behalf of any community -- in this case, a senior residence. The staff of Kingsley Manor have come together to provide a level of holistic care that I can't recall ever seeing since my days in private school or university. Each one of the senior residents -- whether they be in independent living or in skilled nursing -- are integrated into the activities that Kingsley offers so that their bodies and minds are well nurtured. My mother has a group of friends that meet every day for meals and social activities. Kingsley shows curated films in their theater 3-4 times a week, and Kingsley loves to throw lavish parties and dances for the residents, on average once a week. There are more opportunities for socializing than most of us experience since our college days. Then there are the rooftop gardens, the rose gardens, the library, the plazas, the exquisite architecture, music recitals in the serene chapel, the trips to local museums. Kingsley is a feast for the senses that keeps the minds of its residents curious and active. Also, the food is excellent, the dining room is beautiful, and I always enjoy myself when I can join my mother and her friends for a meal. I'm completely confident that my mother is being cared for by the Kingsley staff in every way. It seems hard to believe that a senior residence like Kingsley exists. I can only suggest checking out Kingsley for yourself.

My close friend was a resident in the independent living section and his room was infested with roaches. I saw when visiting. Also because of his health issues he could not always get to the bathroom and room got dirty. Staff blamed him. He died and because I was only a friend was given very little information although I had to inform the facility that he died before reaching intensive care at the hospital. As a designated person. I was able to take his belongings and unfortunately some roaches came along. Awful place. Staff at front desk was always nice and cobsiderdtdv head nurse is out of "one flew over cuckoos next".

Really great place! I chose this for my elderly mom after seeing about six to seven facilities when her physical condition worsened at one point. This wound up in our top two. We had to spin up in home 24/7 care for a few months and the prospect of getting that together again made us realize that wouldn't be a viable future option. My mom has been here for close to a year now (she chose it from the top two) and the staff, facility and resident activities are really great. She really likes it so far. The residents are relatively friendly and talked to us when we initially visited. Although Kingsley was built in the 30's, they really try to modernize and improve it where possible. This can get a bit annoying when construction is going on but needs to be done and they are good about giving notice. It feels more like a large apartment complex than an institution. Pricing is reasonable as well. Has gorgeous rooftop views and actual gardens (as opposed to most places with Gardens in their names). Staff is very nice for the most part and organized. It's part of a non-profit organization which is important to me since there can be conflicting incentives in a for-profit enterprise regarding resident care and higher shareholder profits. Dining hall is lovely and the food is pretty good too. I'd say the biggest negative is the dearth of neighborhood parking. There is a small lot but it's often full. With that said, I'd rather deal with that and get great care for my mom. If I were older, I'd definitely want to stay here myself and my wife has said the same.

Our 82 year old mother has lived at Kingsley Manor for 10 months. She loves it! She likes her 2-room apartment with kitchenette and full bathroom (with tub) - she has plenty of room for her sewing machine, computer, and craft table in her 2 rooms. The staff are friendly, competent and caring. The dining hall is a wonderful environment, and she has enjoyed eating and chatting with many different residents from different cultures and all walks of life. She appreciates the history and architecture of Kingsley, and enjoys being able to attend classes and go on trips into the community. We are so happy that she is happy and content there, it is nice to know that she is safe and receiving good care.
