I am the son of a resident of Sunrise. They have always taken great care of my parents, but they have a history of raising rates beyond a fair level for increasing needs. So as your parents gets worse they will take advantage. That is on top of a high starting cost. Sunrise is 153% of average for the area and 120% of average for the state as far as base cost is concerned. Do your homework and I am sure you will find newer facilities and facilities that are a better value than Sunrise of Rocklin.

I volunteered there for two years doing activities. I recently was offered a paying position which I excepted graciously. The love and care of every team member is authentic. I feel appreciated by staff as well as residents. I did three weeks of intense training before being hired which I learned a lot and it has come in very handy when I have had to communicate to the memory care residence, The executive director Scott truly cares about the residents and staff I feel blessed that they chose me to be part of Sunrise of Rocklin

Wife works there . She loves her job especially the residents. Update: The negative review below me is outdated and no longer the same. The atmosphere is good. Wife works pm shift and loves it. The key is to treat the residents and coworkers like family. It makes a better environment. End update: P.S. upped to 4 stars Due to daughter messing things up. Didnt even know this was posted. Daughter loves our cellphone and clicks what ever she can. I will have to say there is some good people working at this location.

I was employed by Sunrise of Rocklin for several years. So, I know exactly what I am talking about when I say that Sunrise of Rocklin is probably one of the worst places a caregiver can work. Not only a caregiver, to be employed by this company in any aspect, is a very bad choice. Sunrise of Rocklin, at one time, used to be a wonderful place to work. The ED, the coordinators and the team members, all worked together to make it a home. Not only for the residents but for the employees as well. The building had heart. You could feel it when you walked into the building. You could see it in the smiles of the staff and also the residents. It was almost tangible. That all changed when the "new" Executive Director, Josh Lancaster came into the picture. He was heard to say that Sunrise of Rocklin was known for it's over abundance of Love, hugs and general sweetness overload between the staff members. This, apparantly in his opinion, was un-professional and must not continue. He succeeded. There is no heart anymore. It's all about business. Josh Lancaster has made several unwise choices in his coordinators as well. It appears he bases his choices on religion and friendship and has no regard to complaints against his choice of coordinators. He is very biased and shows his favoritism towards those who do not go against what he feels is best. If you do, you might find yourself out of a job. If someone could look at the new hires since Josh has taken over, you will notice that SEVERAL are of his mormon faith and not only that, they come specifically from his church. It makes for a very uncomfortable work environment. The feeling that your being watched by "his people" is a feeling most all who work there feel. If you are looking for a caregiver position, and your heart is set on Sunrise, my advice would be to apply at Sunrise of Fair Oaks, Sunrise of Sacramento or Sunrise of Carmichael. Avoid Sunrise of Rocklin at all costs. Until the leadership and some upper level staff is replaced with truthful people with real heart this building will continue to fail and be one of the worst Assisted Living communities that bears the name Sunrise. The founders of Sunrise, Paul and Terry Klaassen, would be disgusted if they knew the truth behind Sunrise of Rocklin and it's ED. So Sad.
