This place left my grandpa outside during the summer for hours . It was 106 outside and he died. I do not recommend this place. He was a veteran , a marine in the korean war and a great family man. We trusted this place to take care of him and he was only there a few months before he died.

We searched the greater Sacramento area, searching first for a place that did not have the odor of old urine. Many of the other places, though most somewhat passed the smell test, nonetheless failed the dining/food, and resident care tests. My dog eats better that what the wife and I experienced at some of the other facilities. The staff, at most of the other facilities, called their residents by their room #''s. Hey folks, these people are still alive, have a name and deserve respect, not just a number. We observed the interaction between staff and residents. Most were polite to their residents, but only Alta Manor showed their true colors when it came to taking care of the people entrusted to them. We took "Mom Corinne L." to several other facilities before bringing her to Alta Manor. Here we were served a complimentary meal, in the restaurant style dining area. Mom was treated then and as always after as a treasured guest. Mom was won over and though she didn't want to go into a care facility, this was the place that she chose to spend her last days. Mom's loving character came out as she befriended other residents and staff. We spent considerable time at Alta Manor. Our Dad Robert L. came to be in the memory care area. Again, very pleasant staff, dedicated people who look at caring for the elderly with love and attention to detail. Attractive dining area and good food! Both of our parents are now deceased. Alta Manor accommodated Mom in her hospice days with love and care. This was extended to my wife and I as we were told that we could spend 24/7 with Mom in her room. The staff even took care of our meals. The Front office, cleaning, therapy, excursion, entertainment and the medical staff were all wonderful, courteous and very kind to Mom and Dad and to us. In closing, if you have someone that you dearly love and want only the very best care for them, Alta Manor is the place to check our, FIRST. You will see for yourselves what a difference Alta Manor will make when it comes to care for your loved one(s). Blessings. Konrad and San Laube.

Can you please explain to me why you would show a new room when it is not available to a prospective hospice patient's family? Why would you lead a family facing the death of their father to believe they are getting something not available? It felt like a case of bait-and-switch, being shown a new room straight from a Hollywood movie set and then being provided with a much smaller, drab, dingy room instead. Can you also explain to me how your staff can be so lacking in basic training as to leave spilled bodily fluids on the floor for a family member to clean up? Can you explain to me how you would find it acceptable to place a resident in a room you never indicated would be their room, and leave the toilet in such a highly unsanitary condition, with the feces of an unknown person literally floating in the toilet? Can you further-explain to me how your staff could be so bumbling while transferring a patient as to bump their head? I understand your facility was recently purchased by the real estate investment group, DiNapoli Capital Partners. Perhaps F. Matthew DiNapoli, the CEO of that investment group, can move beyond being interested in real estate and start taking an active interest in quality care. This is not an apartment or boutique hotel. This is a senior living facility, which offers memory care and rooms for hospice patients. What is needed here is honesty, quality care, and professionalism -not marketing hype. Mr. DiNapoli might also wish to visit the facility and find out why its senior non-medically licensed manager falsely stated that RN services were available when they most certainly were not. He night also want to find out why other non-medical management attempted to coerce the LVN into moving my father-in-law in a manner that was unsafe and not part of any standard of care whatsoever due to lack of proper equipment. God bless the LVN for refusing, and here's hoping they are not fired for putting patient safety first. And also, maybe Mr. F. Matthew DiNapoli could simply roll up his sleeves and pitch in.After 24 hours in this most sub-standard of facilities, we had my father-in-law transferred to another facility. As he left, around 6:00 p.m., memory care residents were still awaiting their dinner. As staffing was not sufficient, they were being fed dessert. We are grateful my father-in-law had family members by his side the entire time to advocate for him. Other residents may not be so fortunate. The dishonesty and ineptitude at every turn was a nightmare. In a time when my husband simply wanted to sit by his dying father's side, he had to fight for him to be properly cared for. This is beyond unacceptable.

I concur 100% with Mr. Laube's review. It is difficult to know what a place will be like until you live in it, and now that our mother has been in Alta Manor for a few months, we are not only pleased, we are grateful to have discovered this wonderful facility. Every staffperson is friendly, helpful, stops to visit with the residents, gives hugs, and they go out of their way to do whatever we need. They unfailingly call residents by name. And my mother's name is unusual, Leatha. But everybody calls her Leatha. They have wonderful activities, keeping mom busy far more than where she was before. They take residents on outings, exercise every morning, and games and events. But the best part is the caring attentive staff.
