I'm taking time in between breakdowns to warn anyone away from this fake nasty facade. I'm slowly learning ( at 60 yr old) how terribly cruel corporations & their employees can be for the love of money. When my brother & I first visited Atria I was astounded at how nice everyone was, how pleasant, how pretty- oh it was a Senior Wonderland! ....so much so that I started to wonder what was "behind the curtain" ( think Wizard of Oz). Last week my dad underwent "tests" by a NURSE to determine if he was a fit for the place.Atria told us we could move his belongings into the apt. after he passed a test where he told the NURSE it was 1980 and he was 79. ( he's 89 and of course it is 2018).He was in pajama bottoms, as he had been wearing them when my brother picked him up at the NURSING HOME he was in. All of this was full disclosure. We moved his furniture in and waited and waited all day to see if Corporate would OK my Dad, as Alondra Fuentes already had approved him. No one contacted us. Here we were hanging out at Atria, anxious as hell, my Dad in between lives and much to our heartbreak we had to drive 1 1/2 back to Yucca Valley, return him to the Nursing Home and wait. It wasn't until late afternoon the next day that we even got a return call saying CORPORATE had accepted my Dad. My brother raced and got him, I met them for dinner to settle Dad in. Less than 48 hours later, while I was shopping, buying my Dad things that he would need, I got the call from my brother that Atria wanted my Dad gone ASAP because they found him on the 4th floor looking for my Mother, who is presently struggling for her life 5 miles away in a hospital. I almost collapsed on the floor of the store, people had to settle me down and help me out. Suddenly everyone wasnt so nice ( surprise surprise!) In fact, people were downright hostile to or ignored me Alondra Fuentes .walked in my Dad's room because she wanted me to "take him home." I said "He is home, he doesnt have another home." I'm not stupid, I know if I took him I probably would have to keep him and move him in the studio apt. I live in with my boyfriend & dog due to my landlady dying and he son suing me to force me to move. I spent the entire visit anxious as hell, because I was told I needed to stop in and talk to her again before I left. Unfortunately this happened on my brothers birthday and my 60th birthday was the next day. So much for relaxation or fun. Two days later I returned to visit him, all this time Atria will still not tell us what he did wrong, but they tried very hard to get rid of him over the weekend saying in an email, we think he has a urinary tract infection so we took him to Urgent Care. Now how the blank would they know he has a urinary tract infection when he lives in a private apt? He didnt. A few hours later they called 911 to 51/51 him as a "danger to self or others" and the Paramedics declined to take him saying he was not a danger. So why does he need 24 hour sitters? So why do you leave him alone with a 2nd floor balcony and razors etc with the paid jailer sitting outside his door IF HE IS A DANGER TO SELF? I went to visit Sunday, as I am very concerned about these soulless creatures making my Dad uncomfortable or anxious and damn if the LA County Sheriff and one of the formerly Nicey-Nicey staff wasnt standing in front of me. I asked permission to video tape the entire encounter ( contact me if you would like to see it ).The officer was nice, he wanted to know if my Dad was ok, I have no idea who contacted them, but the Nicey Nicey person who helped approve my Dad, now stood for over 10 minutes pouting/glowering with her arms crossed .I asked for a explanation about why my Dad was approved then told to leave less than 2 days later, she would not respond. (had to cut review down-read it on Yelp)

The caregivers are hit or miss. Some are pleasant and compassionate. Others are not helpful, in a rush and unfriendly. They are not very good at keeping to any schedule of care . Mu mothers breakfast plates can sit in her room until late afternoon. It's nearly impossible to get a hold of the nurse on the phone. You will be on hold forever and then one ever answers the phone. Quite expensive. Prices always going up.

Nice at first, once you mention you are removing your loved one they're hospitality and care go right out the window. Extremely unprofessional and really gave the feeling of once they knew they weren't going to get our money anymore they could not care less about our loved one. Would never recommend this establishment to anyone ever again. Please feel free to ask me questions before you think about sending your loved one there. Would not want you to go through what we did.
