You can work as many hours as you like, but you need to be strong and very hard-working so that in times of short staff, you can do better

My papa was in this rehab center for just over a week but today he was rushed from here to the ER. Why?? Because he had fluid in his lungs and a high fever. A fever you ask? Yes. The same fever he had at 10am this morning that the nurses didn't do anything about. Fluid in his lungs that should have been caught at 12pm during his chest X-ray that never happened. When the doctor came in at 5:30pm, he had my papa rushed to the Penrose Hospital. 5:30pm he went to the hospital. So why weren't we notified until almost 8?!? When I called to talk to the manager at Brookdale (Helen) she responded with "Sorry." This is unacceptable. Horrible facility and rude staff.

My mother lives here. We are happy with most everything EXCEPT THE DINING ROOM!! Turn over is terrible. Servers don't have a clue how to work smart or fast. Food is usually cold and it take a hand wave to get anyone's attention for more of anything. They need better training...SMILES WOULD HELP ALOT!!!!!

Have just had a family member move in, so I cannot give anything more than neutral review. However, I can say the move in was easy, they took care of what he wanted changed. Apartment was cleaned and re-painted. We both have a question regarding the seeming lack of diversity. There seems to be almost no residents of color, although there are employees who are. Can anyone at Brookdale explain the reason? Also have noticed that a current employee has written a "review" here, which seems very unusual as this review cannot possibly be unbiased.

I have been working at Brookdale Skyline for 5 years and have had a truly excellent experience here. From being a caregiver to moving into Marketing and Sales, my experience with management has always been supportive and the community itself is great for our seniors. Skyline recently renovated its Assisted Living building, removing 6 revenue generating rooms just to enhance the comfort and living experience for our residents with a brand new dining room and serenity cafe. Its all brand new and beautiful. Way to go Brookdale!
