My parents stayed here for several years prior to their passing. They really loved it here. Beautiful room and views, good food and very caring staff. Will always remember Sunday brunches with them.

I knew I needed to move my parents to assisted living 5 years ago. It was a difficult and emotional decision in so many ways. I looked at every facility in Fort Collins and Loveland multiple times. I knew that the only place I had a chance of getting them to agree to was MacKenzie Place. Definitely expensive but my parents had planned well and they deserved to be in a lovely home that could give them the support they so desperately needed. Though it was an arduous process we finally got them to move there after about a year of trying. I won't say that everything has always been perfect. That is a pipe dream when two parents have Alzheimer's, but I will say that the staff has worked very hard to make my parents feel welcome, comfortable, and respected. Most importantly, my parents have been safe. They get their meds regularly, they get whatever help they need in terms of personal care, they eat lovely nutritious meals that they enjoy, their apartment is cleaned, their laundry is done. They have been happy. And I am grateful. I am very involved in their care. The assisted living staff and I have not always seen eye-to-eye on every detail, but we have always been able to work things out by keeping my parents' well-being first and foremost. Like any good relationship, we work through the bumps. We respect each other. Perhaps my one wish for improvement would be less staff turnover. It is time-consuming to get the next influx of employees up to speed, and consistency is important to Alzheimer's patients. But, with the help of the assisted living office head and her staff, we have been able to keep my parents out of locked memory care and in their own apartment. I highly recommend MacKenzie Place. It has been a life-saving solution for my parents.

My parents have lived in independent living at MacKenzie for 3+ years. when they first moved in it was great. Since that time it has really gone down hill. It is obvious that management is trying to make more and more profit out of the increases in rent. The yards are not being taken care of, the carpets are very warn out, the food isn't near as good and now they're liquor license has expired so they only sell beer and wine a couple times of week. Entertainment? Pitiful. Dining hall service? I can't even describe how bad it is. They used to have a bunch of really nice, conscientious servers but they have all left...management is awful so all the good people have left. The van keeps breaking down so transportation is limited. Get the picture? Bottomline is that they are charging way too much for the services and qualify of the services provided.
