Great staff but not enough of them. One of the worst things is their food. It is awful...and not all that healthy. My sister has diabetes and I would NEVER find a doctor to ok the diet they serve her! They definitely need a new cook and menu.

We visited there for lunch with a resident. What struck us was: The place is VERY clean. We like that. The decor was warm and subdued, almost like living in a private library. The staff we met was very pleasant and seemed to know their craft. The person we were visiting seemed to like living there.

My mother is in her second rehab stay at Grace Pointe and the people and facility have been wonderful. I can't say that the second stay is as positive as the first, but that is perhaps due to the severity of my mother's illness this time. When I was searching for a rehab facility a year ago I had many facilities that refused my mom due to her size and medical conditions. Grace Pointe listened to the complicated needs of our family and welcomed us with open arms. I am grateful that my mother has such a caring facility to help her on her road to recovery.

"We Serve Others"...Well, thats the motto anyway. Grace Pointe is a Continuing Care Facility that prides itself on really, truly caring about the residents on a fundamental level. It's really too bad that it falls flat on it's face trying to do so. The building manager, for starters, is sexist, refusing (up until she gets word of this review, of course) to hire any male CNAs. Atop this, there is a mentality of "protecting the residents from themself" not just in areas such as the memory unit, but in ALL units. This is the most obvious in the kitchen, where sugar-free icecream the the ONLY solution for most residents except for the select few in the main unit. Why? Because it's bad for them. Not because they have diabetes. Not because it's what they want, but because that is what the building decides is right for them. For the prices the residents pay, they should have whatever they want, as long as it doesn't directly endanger their lives. But no. Only certain residents are allowed such things. It's sad really, because the non-managerial staff seems to really care, as does the "big boss" who runs Grace Pointes parent company and his son, are two of the nicest, most generous people I have ever known. It's too bad the bigwigs in the building itself don't seem to feel the same way.
