I wasn't going to comment on this place because I had the same experience as two others on here, regarding the severe neglect of my mother after she went into their "Rehab" center (Northside). I pulled her out of there two weeks later before she died at the Hospice center the following week. That place still gives me nightmares. In their defense, however, it was just after the Christmas holidays so they were short on staff, and they were transitioning to the new owner, Greystone. This was January of 2015. Now I have an older friend who is a resident there on the Nursing Home side (aka, Southside) and is getting very good care. The nurses and CNAs show genuine concern for her health and welfare. Communication is superb. Family involvement on a daily basis is key, as it is anytime medical care is needed for an older relative. It didn't seem to make a difference with my mom but I am hoping that is no longer the case. Try to be respectful and appreciative, regardless. How many of us would want to work in a nursing home on a daily basis?

I had my father-in-law stay here for one week. When we came to pick him up (unannounced), his room smelled like urine and the floor was sticky. There was only one nurse stationed for his entire wing and obviously no maintenance people. Then they lost his clothes despite the fact that we had tagged each one of them, so we had to go to laundry and search for them. We had provided the prescription drugs and instructed staff dispensing them. Much to our surprise, they decided on their own that he didn't have enough drugs and gave him more and then billed us for these unauthorized drugs. When we got him home we discovered he had UTI. He quickly deteriorated and passed away a few days later. This place is a complete disaster! Unless you are trying to kill your loved one, do not leave them here!

I was VERY pleased! After spending two months in the hospital the Gardens was like a luxury hotel. The food was good and if you don't like it they have options. The nurses were kind and attentive. I didn't give a 5 because there were a couple of upsetting things that happened, but nobody is perfect. All in all I'd highly recommend the Gardens.

Never ever bring a loved one here. This place is filthy, some of the nurses are nice, so are the aids and the therapy team. I had to sleep on the same sheets for 3 days until they finally decided to change them after I complained. My bathroom was never cleaned and the sink had a blue stain on the right side that is still there as of today 12/18/2016. I am being released because I was not granted a pass to go see my surgeon tomorrow 12/19/2016, they stated that if I can stay our for 1 night I matter as well stay home. I had a total right hip replacement on 12/8/2016, I live on a second floor where I have to climb 14 steps, I am not strong enough to do so. I need assistance with bathing as I cannot shower and I was not helped to was my lower extremities because I cannot bend. I was helped on Friday only because I complained about it. To top all this my pain medication was due at about 2:15 on Friday, I asked my nurse twice face to face she said that she would come to my room with them and never showed up even after I pressed the nurse call 4 times. Her shift ended at 3 and I never got my meds. I kept on insisting until finally at 4:30 my nurse for the 3 to 11 gave them to me. When I told my nurse the next day that she had not given me my pills all she said was "I am sorry" Sorry? What the hell did she mean by that? She was not the one in pain!!! I am being sent home without having out patient therapy and I don't know where to go after my appointment tomorrow. Please I beg you, if you love your family don't bring them here!! This is a beautiful facility on the outside, but nobody knows what happens behind close doors!

My mom ( audrey bush ) just passed 2 weeks ago and these people are going to keep money that she left for her end-of-life expenses. Really sad. Where do people come from that steal from the families of the deceased ? Also got tricked out of two of her life insurance policies while in their care due to negligence of the management. A real shame, from what I understand the staff is pretty good. The nurses were great with my mom, and I feel my mom had very good care while being there
