Never judge a book by its cover. Cover: beautiful place, close to Mom's doctor/hospital, helpful staff that walk you through the confusing nuances of senior living. Book: crooks with bad attitudes. Assured us mom was a great fit, encouraged my very independent mom sign up for help she didn't need "so ins would kick in", had me guarantee the contract and told us we couldn't submit the claim until after she moved in. Got a nasty life lesson within days of move in. Realized what later one admin admitted she knew- ins wouldn't cover any of it bc mom didn't need assisted living she needed independent living. Their advice to this was that they could stop all services and reminded us we were locked in for 30 days, no fees refundable. Oh and "don't be late paying the bill the late fee is horrible". That >$10000 in life lesson to do all your homework carefully. But honestly the worst was the attitude change. Admin got very cold. Mom says one woman doesn't even acknowledge her now. AND told all the residents that mom wasn't staying. Holy awkward and horrible for mom. Beautiful cover- lousy book.
