Looks like a clean family run ALF, that's what I was sold on. Met one of the owners/nurse, Alex and an "administrative assistant", Trish, (aka, runs the place who obviously deserves a much better title) who seemed like really nice, accommodating, caring people. That's how they were recommended to me, "a faith based, family owned business". I was only placing my mom here short term, a week, maybe 2, on "respite care" until I could get her thru a couple days of physical therapy, minimum, to ensure she'd be ok to navigate up and down the stairs at home. She wasn't even here a full day before the med tech, Claudia, gave her 200mg of a drug in the morning that she's only supposed to get at bedtime!! She didn't read or pay any attention to a change her doctor had made, the information was plain as day on the bottle of pills. A complete error in administering her medication!! This Claudia in no way apologised, admitted she'd done anything wrong, had no concern whatsoever for the major screw up she made. Sick, disgusting behavior! Also, on the same morning her caregiver accuses her of lying about me, her daughter, coming to see her and bringing her food, on her birthday, and says she just doesn't want to get out of bed to go to the cafeteria and eat. Not only was I coming, with food and he'd already witnessed her on the phone with me talking about that but she'd been sick for days, nauseated, gagging, diarrhea, etc and could hardly eat anything no matter where she got the food. To call someone a liar tho, without having any facts, straight up wrong! (Plus, no wonder she didn't want to get out of bed when your genius med tech gave her the wrong meds and knocked her out for the day!) But I won't mention this guy's name because when confronted he was straight up honest, admitted he was wrong, apologised, didn't try to bs me, I can respect that, he kept it real. All this happened in one day on a weekend day, today, which FYI, there's NO ONE THERE in charge and running this place on the weekend AT ALL. I called the people in charge Alex, Trish to discuss before I packed her things and we left. They didn't answer and didn't return my call, wasn't important enough I guess. It's now been 7-8 hours and still no call back! These people DO NOT care. I'd already spent 4 hours this week with med techs trying to be sure my mom's meds were correct. Don't waste your time or money on this place!! You can be a far better caregiver, one who actually gets it right where these people obviously cannot!! They only made our situation worse and didn't help or provide respite in any way.
