Of the four elevators I've never seen more than 2 working at a time, and frequently only one. While there's been a lot of employment turnover, it was not uncommon in the past for things to be stolen from residents (locked) rooms by staff. I can't comment on the quality of the food but if you have food allergies you need a backup plan because they don't care, eat what they serve or go hungry. It looked so nice my hopes were high, but maybe there isn't a great ALF out there for people with very little money.

I've lived here 14 months now. I love having a private room and I feel very safe here. Staff is great! I looked at 6 other facilities in Pinellas County before I chose Heron House. I love the fact that there is a chapel and has open dining giving me freedom of choice!

Heron House is a breathtaking facility with a lot of amenities for the residents. It's very relaxing to come and visit. Lots of entertainment and staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. After walking through the front door, I knew this was the place!

HORRIBLE facility! Roaches all over kitchen area.. Food is not kept at sanitary levels. They do not pay their vendors. Do not send anyone you know to live there or for businesses, do not work for them unless you enjoy working for free. Ripped us off over $1400.00.

I have been a resident here for about three and a half years and have seen a lot changes but the one thing that remains the same has been the quality of the staff members. Some have come and gone but with the exception of one or two, who both are no longer here, they have all been terrific to be around. We have to trust these staff members implicitly for not only the simple things, but with our medications therby making them in charge of out lives should God forbid there be a mixup. We do have a lot of young staff members and I for one love it. They keep us laughing and try to keep us up to date on what's current........... I had a terrible flu bug last year and three of the young ladies took such good care of me including going back and forth to the Dollar General to buy Ginger Ale for with their own money and sitting with me with a cold compress on my head and risking catching what I had. So, I think staff all around is great....... Room sizes are pretty good compared to some other ALF'S I have seen. And Housekeeping does a great job on the weekly cleaning of your room and bathroom. The Dining Room is open all day and if you are lucky, Kim will have made one of her terrific soups, with the Corn Chowder being hands down the favorite. And the kids working in the dining room will definately entertain you..... So, all in all, this is my experience for the last three and a half years. If you would like to take a tour and even meet my dog Spencer, who is kind of like the resident goofball of Heron House, then give Sherri a call to set up an appointment. She is one of the nicest and most knowledgable people around and she will tell it to you straight and not just blow smoke at you to get you in the door. Well, that's all I have that I can think of. Good luck in whatever future endevour you decide to make!
