My mom was the very best story teller. Oftentimes, we would sit in the evening and she would tell me stories about her childhood, about her teen years, or about her career years. I was always mesmerized by the detail she would provide. In addition she would spend endless hours answering my unending questions about the topic of choice. Dementia has robbed my mom of that ability. My mom now relies on my ability to recall and story tell those precious memories. When you are looking for a community to care for your loved one, it is critical that you find one that creates new memories for you to share with your loved one. Today was a PERFECT example of how the Villas staff provided that opportunity. Two minibus loads of residents were provided the opportunity to picnic at Anderson Park on Lake Tarpon with their loved ones. Residents experienced the outdoors in ways they typically would not. The residents felt the warmth of the sun with the most delightful breeze passing through the pavilion on the edge of Lake Tarpon. I cannot count the number of times my mom told me how much she loved being in this environment. The perfect description of the day came when a resident said to the director who was escorting the resident to the bus, "You have such a wonderful family." The resident was referring to all the staff and residents who attended the picnic. THIS is the environment for which I will be eternally grateful my mom experiences each and every day.

This place is the last place u want your loved one to live. This place is also a horrible place to work. Management Has no respect for their employees nor residents. I worked here for 6 months my heart couldnt take anymore. Residents would be left in the dining area for hours while other residents would sometimes go without eating. How do i know this? Because i have worked in the kitxhen. I got to see what really goes on in those kind of nursing homes. I have seen residents who have been in the same clothes for a full week and ive seen residents completley ignored from their requests. Ive seen employees take residents belongings after they pass , There was a full 2 weeks. Where half of our residents had food poisoning. And was not sent down to the dining area to eat.... What did they eat for those 2 weeks ? Most of them have dementia therefor they cant tell you exactly what they need. I get its frustrating. But if u signed up for the job take care of those people !! What if it was your own mother ? its so sad. My residents knew i went above and beyond for them and it sucks i couldnt help them all without breaking myself :( i hope this place gets shutt down. And to the families who have residents staying here. Please either look into this place or get them out !.

I can't stress enough how thankful I am to the whole staff. They are warm, caring, loving, and go the extra mile with my mother. It is a great relief to see how well the staff cares for her and interacts with her. Priceless! Thanks especially to Melissa, Lupe, Tina, T-Rose, Rob, Christina, Michelle, Jennifer, Lisa, Courtney, Colleen, and the rest of the staff. The dining room staff is always supportive and welcoming. It's an incredible burden lifted from my shoulders to know that my mother is treated and cared for so well.
