This place is under new management. The new owners bought it in August and have been working really hard to rehab it physically as well as bring in a positive staff. I've met both owners, the psychiatrist that visits once a week, the cooking staff and a few of the regular employees. I enjoyed meeting all of them! No one was sullen or blase. They have a musician come in once a month who plays outside. One employee is creating a little "ice cream parlor" that will be open twice a week where residents can sit in ice cream parlor chairs and tables inside or out, and enjoy ice cream. The outside area is one of the nicest parts. They have a lot of furniture, they've added new landscaping, there's even a fire pit. One of the residents enjoys fixing things and he has a small area where he can do repairs or make things etc. if you've been in a lot of assisted living or nursing home facilities, you will be very impressed with the next fact. When you walk in, it does not smell like urine. In fact I didn't smell that special nursing home smell anywhere and I toured the whole place. Even between the two visits me there, it had improved dramatically since the first visit. One star is removed because the actual physical place is oldish and plain, although They are working on that. Some of the restroom facilities need to be updated with new sinks etc., but that is in their plans. But the most important thing is people and safety and this has alarmed doors and locked gates. To open the front door you must know the code or wait for an employee to come and let You in.

I worked here for a month til I was fired for no reason given. Before that happened the bosses all of them just quit and never came back. A CNA was alone at night and left leaving all the residents alone and they never have money for food it's horrible here

I just moved my father into Good Hope of Pinellas a couple months ago. I normally don't take the time to do these reviews...but I have been so impressed with this place and grateful for the way they have cared for my father that I just wanted to share the word with others that have a loved one they need to place in a retirement/assisted living facility. Not only does Good Hope of Pinellas take great care of their residents, but they are much more affordable than other facilities in the area.
