I give Addington Place at the Mills five stars. Not because it is the most beautiful and impressive facility but because this quaint and well located facility is exactly what we needed for my dad! Their administrative and support staff bent over backwards to make this resistant, 97 year old's move from independent living in California to assisted living in Georgia smooth and welcoming. The entire staff is very aware, attentive, interactive and so kind! I have been impressed by the support and education extended to the family members. Dad loves the food and I love the peace of mind I finally have knowing he is in good hands!

If I could rate this any higher, I would. It is a perfect 10! My mom was recently at Addington Place under Hospice care and it was truly a blessing for my mom. She had a lot of health issues and not able to return to her home. Addington was as close to home as you could imagine. The extra little touches were amazing. They decorated to her style and colors and it looked like her home. She felt warmth and compassion from all of the staff. My whole family did. They didn't just pay attention to my mom, but my whole family. They treated us like part of their family. They have recently been purchased by Phoenix Senior Living and they are transforming the place. We were at several facilities these past few months and Addington was so much better than any others by a long shot. And I heard they have more plans too. They are a gem in Historic Roswell.

I have been working in this community for years now as an outside provider and have seen it go through many changes. Communities in this industry have administrative changes frequently and also change ownership on a regular basis. I have seen this community through their ups and downs and can confidently say that things are looking up. Being an unbiased, outside source, I am happy to say that since Phoenix Senior Living stepped in and bought this community they have done a complete 360. The executive director is taking the bull by the horns and not only acting as ED, but also playing the Director of Nursing role. She is taking this very seriously and orchestrating the hiring herself, and I quote, "to find the A-team". Growing up in Roswell and seeing all of the changes this community has gone through, it is refreshing to see happy residents and employees all working together to bring joy to those who live there. P.S. The food is awesome.

There have been 4 directors in one year at this facility. The current director is dictatorial, insensitive, defensive, and simply walks away from residents trying to talk to her. The food is awful. Imagine dinner being a can of condensed cream of chicken soup, not heated, not seasoned, and no liquid added put in a bowl. That was dinner one night along with a stale, cold piece of white bread with a piece of cheese. Another night was a cup of lettuce and a piece of garlic bread. Our sheets were not changed from November to July. I had to get an outside service to come in. The bathrooms are supposed to be cleaned every day, but take a look at the pictures of the feces on the floor and the feces on another residents carpet that was not cleaned for over 2 weeks. My husband has been forced to sleep on urine and feces soiled sheets for weeks at a time with disposable pads just placed on top. There are no activities going on, so residents just go to meals and back to their rooms to watch TV. And residents who push their pendants for help do not get any help. To all you families with loved ones here---you do not know what goes on when you are not here. The chef puts on a big buffet when family nights are scheduled, and the staff is all cheery. But when you leave, we are left with the horrible service, sub standard food, verbal abuse, and neglect. I have seen it over and over for a year. Someone needs to step in here and put a stop to all this. No elderly person , no person period, should be treated like this.
