New Hope Center is a licensed personal care home that caters to mentally ill adults ages 18 and older. New Hope Center maintains compliance with Department of Community Health's state regulations. New Hope Center can be a permanent or long-term residential facility for the residents. At the group home, residents will have the opportunity to gain back independent living skills and in some cases, be transitioned back out into the community. New Hope Center is located in Warner Robins, Ga at 209 Elberta Road. In February 2013, current residents moved from the original group home (located at 100 Story Road) into a newly built group home on the same property. The house sits on several acres of land owned by NAMI of Central Georgia. There are botanical gardens, green houses, a nature center, and several other projects that that are also available to the residents. New Hope Center has a capacity for 12 residents. A typical resident will share a room and full bathroom with a roommate. All rooms come fully furnished with bed, dresser, linens, shower curtains, etc. Residents will receive the following: o 24 hour supervision provided by our trained mental health technicians o Protective care and watchful oversight o Supervision of personal care o Supervision of nutrition o Medication management (including correspondence with pharmacy) o 3 balanced meals per day o 2 nutritious snacks per day o Continuous assessments of needs and condition o Referral for appropriate services when needed o Correspondence between physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, lawyers, etc. o Correspondence of information to guardian, sponsor, or next-of-kin regarding resident's needs o Emergency transportation o Scheduling of appointments o Transportation to/from appointments o Transportation to/from recreational activities o Life-skills training o Laundry facilities (& detergent) o Bedding & supplies o Towels/wash cloths o Toilet tissue o Light bulbs o In the case of indigent residents, NHC will arrange for clothing through local clothing closets/other donors o In the case of indigent residents, NHC will arrange for provision of hygiene supplies. New Hope Center provides life-skills training to all residents. Life-skills training is provided to enable each individual to become as independent as possible and to gain a better sense of themselves, improving their overall quality of life. All staff at New Hope Center are CPR/AED certified. They are also trained and understand proper protocol for crisis situations if one should occur. NHC staff is responsible for completing daily shift reports and progress notes on each individual resident in order to monitor and continually assess the physical and mental needs of each client. All medication administration is documented. New Hope Center provides a positive and up-lifting atmosphere for the residents. The compassionate staff, volunteers, and interns work together to bring fun and exciting experiences to each individual while also assessing their needs and encouraging them to use the abilities they have to their full potentials.
