Both my father and step-mother were residents at Stratford Memory Care for over a year. My father, needing skilled nursing, was there to be able to stay with his wife, not because of any memory issues. They both enjoyed excellent, loving care. The staff were always willing to work with us on any matter and are committed to providing top-quality care. Sometimes, the best indicators of care are small things. For example, when my father returned from a hospital stay, I watched the faces of staff who smiled and went out of their way to welcome him back. Just a small, casual observance of people who day-in and day-out work hard to provide compassionate care for a very vulnerable population.

I'm Bruce and I moved my wife into Stratford Memory Care and they have stayed in open communication with the administration at Stratford. I enjoy the family involvement and the activities that my wife is involved in. I come into the facility everyday, and I can see my wife is in great care. i would highly recommend this day.

Update: I'm happy to report that I was paid in March 2017 after 112 days but was blacklisted from performing here or the other Tutera properties. This situation could have been easily avoided had they just took time to communicate and not ignore my inquiries about payment. I still maintain the Tutera family is great and has done a lot for senior care in KC. This is is one situation that was mishandled. All forgiven. This facility is slow to pay vendors. I am currently waiting over 90 days for an invoice to be paid. I've been given the excuse that I had to be "put in their system" all the while I have performed and been paid by their sister property. When calling the facility to deal with this, I've left messages and have been ignored. Vendors beware. Let me add the owners (The Tuteras) are wonderful people. This facility is obviously poorly ran. Hopefully they can make this facility shine again

Stay away. My mother was admitted in October 2016 for rehab following a hospital stay. We chose the facility after an onsite visit and meeting with their sales representative. The rehab care, which is independently contracted, was very good. Unfortunately the personal & health care she received was very poor. I was there every day & many times found her oxygen tank empty or not turned on. They performed 2 tests without contacting the family, which is against policy. They attempted a 3rd test which my mother refused only to discover the test had been ordered by mistake. These are the major issues but there were many other issues that caused a great deal of stress for her. In the 3 weeks she was there I had to request numerous meetings with administrators, & it seems that many of the problems stemmed from the care givers not following policy. I don't know if it's because they don't have enough staff or due to a lack of concern for their patients, but regardless the reason, I was extremely disappointed In the care she received.

My mother was in Stratford Commons during 2016. I noticed many times that it took nearly 20 minutes for a staffer to respond to the call button at night. Sometimes I would go looking for the "help" only to find them watching T.V. or eating while the calls were being ignored. Mother developed a sore on her hip so bad that I had to take her every week to a wound doctor. The doctor (not provided by Stratford) told me that my mother had been neglected, more than likely left in her wheel chair for hours at a time to develop such a sore. It nearly killed her as the infection reached the bone. The doctor insisted that I remove her from Stratford immediately. Fortunately Overland Park has other nursing homes nearby that had immediate openings. After months upon months of treatment she managed to heal from the wound, but no thanks to Stratford Commons. I wouldn't leave a pet fish in the care of this organization.
