I rarely post reviews because everyone's experience is subjective; however, because of the personal nature of my review I felt compelled to do so. My mother passed away on Christmas Day after living 2 years at The Rosemont of West Monroe in their Memory Care. She also lived the previous almost 5 years at an assisted living facility in Shreveport and another in West Monroe so I have years experience in evaluating different facilities. When I saw the previous post I felt this person was talking about two different people than the ones I have come to know after visiting my mother every week for those years. The receptionist at Rosemont has always greeted me with a smile and asked how I was doing. Whenever I needed a favor from her regarding my mother she was always ready to accommodate me. Never, never was she rude or even seemingly unconcerned. The "other lady" is also the administrator and she is the reason I moved my mother to Rosemont in the first place. Mother needed to continue in Memory Care and after talking with Karen and visiting with staff at the Rose Garden I felt totally comfortable with the choice to move Mother there. Rude is never the word I would use to describe Karen. I've seen her interact with residents and family members alike and have never witnessed anything other than compassion and respect. The day my mother passed, Karen called me to tell me. When my husband and I arrived she met us at the front door, took my hand, and led me to Mother's room where the Hospice Nurse was also waiting. On Christmas Day, Karen waited with us almost 2 long hours before the funeral home finally arrived to transport my mother's body. This woman runs a tight ship, for which I was always grateful, but in doing so I always felt she had the very best interest of her residents and their families at heart. If I had to do it over again, I would make the same decision. The Rosemont was my Mother's safe place.
