I'm always amazed at the amount of activity that goes on here. Every time I visit, there are at least 15 people singing, painting, or having drinks on the porch. Had a chance to meet the new director and was very impressed. Heard they are going to start first floor renovations soon and I'm looking forward to seeing the change. Grateful for all they do!

My sister and I had toured several assistant living facilities but, nothing compares to Brightview in Catonsville. From the moment we walked in and met with Alan, we knew that this would be mom's new home. Mom moved in a few weeks ago and she's now enjoying life again. She was at home isolating herself from family and friends. The staff has been incredible at encouraging her to participate in activities as well as taking excellent care towards her personal needs. I can sleep well at night knowing that mom is in great hands.

Please do not let appearances full you! My family member just moved out yesterday. Had they not moved out, we would not have known that they were not fully cared for! During their medical evaluation at the facility we moved to, it was brought to our attention that his ears were terribly blocked with wax! His dental hygiene was poor, which tells us teeth were not being brushed! What I do know is that Brightview never cleaned the room thoroughly! Food crumbs left for weeks in the room, no dusting and the bathroom disgusting! If my family member had an accident, they would just use a swiffer mop...well, we know what that does! Any soiled clothes would go in the hamper, which permeated out into the room! The swiffer mop was always left in the bathroom. They don't take care of the clothing, as my father's shirts and pants would be balled up and thrown in the drawer and hung inside out. When Brightview wanted to implement a strategy or plan for my father, it was short lived!...maybe one week! So, when things weren't working, the blame was directed towards my father when they were the ones not keeping up with the plan. My father was there over three years. We asked multiple people to please give the room a fresh coat of paint... never got done. They all said, "We'll let Buster know". I was never told that it couldn't be done or it would get done. They have gone through 3 Executive Directors within three years and have had a high turnover rate in regular staff. Just FYI they are extremely expensive... it's not worth it! A studio apartment that only fits a twin bed and one small chair is just under $5,000/month, not including care! Just FYI, my father left because his wife, my step-mother, went to the Alzheimer's unit. My father's rent DOUBLED when that occurred. Who wouldn't leave? Thank God we did...the care he is getting now is night and day! There are plenty of caring, decent assisted living facilities out there. We are much happier now that he moved. A tremendous difference in care! Do your homework! Don't be fooled and be prepared for denial about my review!
