Somerford Place in Columbia is definitely one of a kind! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The building is very safe and secure for the residents. The residents can walk freely through out the community and they can even go outside into the courtyard without any worries of your loved one wondering away! They have many stimulating and engaging activities for the residents, such as socials/cookouts, sing-a-longs, jewelry making/crafts and current events. I would highly recommend Somerford Place for your loved one, you won't go wrong!

I'm impressed. The staff is well trained in dealing with people with memory problems, and cognitive deficit. Their director, Will Clark, spends hours with me making sure things go well, and educating me so I can care for my Dad better (they do all the work of caring for him, but I visit often and these visits are part of his care). I didn't ask for special treatment, it looks like they always do this. The rest of the staff is awesome too. They're all respectful, responsible, and caring. As I said, it's impressive.

Somerford was the best visit ever! The spacious site was full of love, and I was especially impressed with the activities that were underway. The best part was the home made chocolate cookie from their chef. Get this - It was still hot - YUM! Although, it was out of my budget for my mom, I plan to participate in the monthly support sessions available there. Darlene really was a great support for me during a difficult time! she called around to several facilities; as well as provided me with some helpful tools!

Ms Darlene Sellers is very professional at what she does. Being the Marketing and Community relation director, she help clients, families and healthcare partners understand every area of the care they provide at Somerford. She is detailed oriented and will help you make the right choice. The environment at Somerford is clean and client centered, I love the place. We will not hesitate to refer any one in search of a quality Assisted living for self or a love one. Mellisa A. ( Trust Home Care, Inc.)

Somerford was by far the best place for care of people with memory issues. The entire facility is designed to provide the best quality of life for their residents. The staff all treat the residents with dignity and caring. The staff are all well trained in how to interact with people with memory issues but still treat the guest respectfully. The administrative staff were extremely helpful and willing to help me increase my knowledge of quality care facilities so I was able to make the best choice for my loved one.....I have informed my family if I ever need memory care I want to go to Somerford!
