My elderly (81 y/o) parent spent almost 12 weeks at this joint, due to a serious injury that left them immobilized, requiring P.T. rehab and obviously, staff assistance for all personal hygiene & urine/bowl elimination. On one occasion, (that I have just now been told about), my parent requested a diaper change....in the usual manner that the facility instructed & that had been previously done, regularly, without incident, until this occurrence....when a unfamiliar, female tech/nurse/attendant, (? their position wasn't made clear to me?), casually reported to my parents' room and upon asking what was needed, responded with a sassy, "I ain't changing no diaper! You're here for rehab!" And ending with something to the effect of "You change your own diaper" or "that's not my job!", to which, she left the room, leaving my parent in a soilef diaper & without other recourse to get assistance. My parent placed complaints about this woman & incident to everyone and anyone who seemed to be of authority, yet, the buck was passed by each staff person & fell upon deaf ears, ultimately. My parent said that being there was the worst experience of their life & their depression worsened with every passing day....not only because of the hardship of the injury, but the entire depressive atmosphere of the facility.

They have worked hard since June training staff and turning over those who were not very empathetic or good at being patient with elderly. Very nice people, clean facility, excellent OT and PT staff. A new GM has been hired and Sunrise has made Brighton Gardens a top turnaround priority, especially considering a brand new Sunrise is being built a mile away in bethesda. The location off the trail as well as access to stores is very nice, small building makes it feel more homely. They are very friendly and accepting of guests and the food is actually very very good. I have been living here since June and experienced the progress and turnarund.

Anyone that have worked here stayed because they have been used to bullying by long term illeterate leads who had limited knowledge or they are bullies themselves. No wonder most Caucasian top positions holder left this foreigners working environment.Bullies and Narcissists work this little place.Nice building , extremely empty unworkable environment.except 5th floor which things still looks better.
