I'd never put a relative there EVER. Staff spends lots of time on phone being loud on 3rd shift instead of being professional and continually checking on patients. They start making residents wake up as early as 4:30/5:00 am regardless if the client is ready because they want to have a quota met of how many are up by the time the next shift comes in. Clients are treated like kids and voices are raised at them insteadof continually testing them with the utmost dignity and respect. One of the worse places to put your loved one.

I used to work at this facility. It is by far the worst facility around town. The majority of employees don't care about the residents. I have witnessed employees yelling at residents and ignoring residents. Med techs do not watch the residents take their pills after handing the meds to them, because I would find pills in beds all the time. The facility was always understaffed and the employees were always over worked, and forced to stay 16 hours some days. Employees are always on their phones, headphones in ears, and sitting in the break room whenever they get the chance. The management does not take action to fix any of these problems what-so-ever. The facility was so bad, I only lasted 2 months here. Please do not consider putting your loved one at a place like this.

Go during dinner and find out what they feed the residents. Who gives bone in food to people that need assistance with most aspects of living? I don't feel this is one of the better places in Grand Rapids. The staff is underpaid and turns over often. The feel you get from them is not that they are there for the residents but just for the pay check. Most of the time the staff is eating the food, looking at their cell or listening to music on ear buds so they are oblivious to the needs of the residents during meals. The staff is not going to each individual during meals to check on them. You get better service at a discount restaurant. The facility does not engage the residents often enough. Very few activities are encouraged or offered. It feels like a place for people to survive but not LIVE. Very impersonal to the residents and their family. It does not feel welcoming nor happy. I dread going and feel like an outsider when I do visit which is weekly. I am not in power to move my relative so here they stay...
