I worked for Brookdale when I was 16 in Holland. I worked as a server and I was unfortunately let go due to having too many absences from being in and out of the hospital. I am now 21, living in Kalamazoo, applied for the RCA position and got hired in right away. Went and did my physical, passed with flying colors. Also went to my orientation and got my name tag, key, and uniform. Was told the next morning before my first day on the floor that they couldn't hire me anymore. Said I wasn't eligible for hire because of what happened when I was 16. They knew I was let go from that job and they still decided to let me go through the whole hiring process. I was so excited to work with them. I may have been let go from a serving position, 5 years ago but little do they know how much I've grown since then and how much experience I have in this field. They were going to pay me very little and I still told them yes. I really hope they realize what they lost and how great of an employee I could have been.
