I worked here for about a month. If your loved one cannot assist in taking care of themselves this is not that place for them. Some of the elderly people living here should be in a nursing home with SKILLED professionals. Because the girls working here do not have to be skilled to take care of your mother, father ect....They get away with doing things that would be considered a form of abuse. I am a licensed CENA so going here from a nursing home was just horrible for me. I was use to structure an to be honest there is none here. A man one night fell out of bed and skinned his scalp (his scalp was literally on the wall). Because he was hospice they refused to send him to the hospital. At a nursing home ANY head injury is automatically sent to the hospital, hospice or not. He could of had a concussion. Instead he was just put back in the bed to return to sleep like that was normal. What if he didn't wake back up? No one checked to make sure he didn't hurt another part of his body. As a CNA I felt I should of reported them seriously. The girls "care managers" don't know any better they would put the very incontent residents to bed with pull ups on. Pull ups are designed for small accidents or some leakage, not full blown incontenace. So because the residents also went to bed with no mattress pad to protect their own beds they would just soil the mattress. This is not the place for someone who needs more then a little assistance.
