Horrible place to work, or send your family to live. These people have put on the biggest front I have ever seen. They would get these families to move in just to fill rooms and make money, after the families would move in they would still be confused on things and would have so many questions about their loved ones that Sunrise directors did a horrible job at addressing. The managers/directors of different departments would always leave it up to the team members to answer the families concerns when we had enough on our plates. They hardly EVER had enough staff to fill the needs of the residents. If you were not working doubles which is two shifts back to back, they could care less about you as a person. I felt that they only cared or reached out to a team member when you where in the building working numerous amounts of hours per week. I've seen people work 3 shifts in a row which many work places would consider illegal! There was so much favoritism being played between different team members coming from the "managers". The professioanlism was terrible, half of the time the managers of the building would hardy even know what was going on with a resident half of the time. Example: if a resident was to report to the hospital and was sick. Sunrise would not even know any details nor would they reach out to retain any updated details on a specific resident. Team members would ask all the time what is going on with a resident and the managers would respond with NO ANSWER more than half the time. I am just so happy I am out of that kind of work environment, I could not even imagine sending one of my loved one's to a place to live where the managers and bosses don't even value or genuinely care about the residents.

After two other supposedly five star facilities we found Sunrise in Golden Valley to actually BE a five star facility without promoting themselves as such. The staff, and I mean the entire staff, are sensitive, caring, professional and loving. They care for the residents with such magnificent attitude we never leave our love one with anxiety or concern like we did in the other two. In fact, the reason we moved our love one was due to abuse and neglect-both times. Sunrise is the exact opposite. Homey and filled with laughter, joy and serenity even when things become chaotic, as they often do in a memory care facility-it is the nature of the reality, Sunrise-Golden Valley staff is trained to work with such efficiency , it becomes a non-sequitur. We love Sunrise-Golden Valley.
