For the past two months, I have been a resident of Sherbrooke Village Rehab. I selected this facility from a recommendation of a friend. I am so happy I listened to her. I have found it to be a good experience. Kind and caring staff that are genuinely interested in helping you get well and back home. The therapy group are top notch and are a constant source of encouragement and hope. They will not let you give up, even when you feel you can't go on. I did however have one bad experience that was upsetting. But, you can not fault the entire organization for one person's bad judgement. Besides, we are all human.

I had stayed at the lodge for 21 days for rehab after back surgery. Here is the truth you will not believe. On arriving at the lodge all they were worried about was the length of my incisions and not my meds. The way they THREW me into bed made me scream from pain and no regards of what my surgeon had put in after surgery instructions. It took them a day and a half to get my pain pills ordered from the house Doctor. No rail on my bed that I could move properly to get out, 10 days later I did received the rails. The bed was not usable by me, I slept in lounge chair the remainder of time these 20 days. One night I sat in urine for 8 hours and the aid told my Fiancee that my pjs were dry but the floor was not cleaned up yet. The night I wet myself the bedroom door was closed and l could not use the call station because the cord was to short so after that the door stayed opened 24 hours a day, Drugs are interesting, I should of received mine every 4 hours but I would call for it but the nurse would show up 2 hours later with it. What happened to my 2 pills (6pills every 4 hrs. Or compared to 4 pills every 6 hrs) I did not receive. One night the night nurse put my morning drugs on the counter next to where I was sleeping and the next morning I awoke the drugs were gone (disappeared). No drugs for that morning and my records said I did receive them. One other interesting situation was my incisions was never cared for by a nurse until it was suggested by us. One more interesting item on my list was the Cellulitis I had contracted during my stay was ignored until my Fiancee got in their face and told them I was leaking thru my bandages, which should have been replaced each night but they ignored. I had to go to my family Doctor to have the Cellulitis cured. The cellulitis was so bad the doctor considered sending me to the hospital. House Doctor did nothing to delete this problem. Now here is the amazing situation, even though I was suppose to receive a shower 2 times a week I received 1 dry sponge bath in the 21 days at the Lodge. Believe it or not I heard one of the aids say she did 3 baths that day and she was not giving any more. Now I know why people stayed clear of me. Lol I might as well bring up the food quality which was not fit for man or beast. I lost 24 pounds after my surgery. YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND IF YOU WANT YOUR LOVE ONE CARED FOR THIS WAS???????

My grandparents stayed here for a week while my grandma recovered from hip surgery after falling down. This was the worst service I've ever witnessed. Almost every caregiver had a hostile attitude, when one of my grandparents had to use the restroom, sometimes they would wait hours after pressing their button, which signaled that they required assistance. The employees treated everyone as though they were brainless, when they were very much so aware of their surroundings. There was absolutely no respect or care here. I wish my family knew how horrible of treatment my grandparents would receive at this place, before they went.

My mother has been getting rehab at Sherbrooke Village after she fell at home. We have been very happy with the nursing care and therapy that she has received at Sherbrooke Village. My mother is very hard of hearing, and the staff always took the time to make sure her needs were understood and met. My mother felt a real connection to this community and the other people there receiving therapy. She said it kept her motivated and positive to see others going through the same things as her.

My husband was at rehab at Sherbrooke Village. We were very happy with our experience. The nurses, aids, and therapy were absolutely wonderful. Trina was his nurse aid his first night. She made him feel welcomed. She explained everything and was very reassuring.
