Please do not send your loved one to this facility if you have other options. My father ended up here due to an error made on the part of the admissions coordinator. They have done nothing to assist with correcting the error and have ignored emails seeking resolution. Further, since his residency, he has been injured without reporting multiple times, where the authorities were called, and he was taken by paramedics to the ER. Injuries involved fractured ankle, abrasions on forehead and back, and bruising on knees. Tonight, I received a call that my father was "assaulted and beaten by an aggressive resident". He was yet again taken by paramedics to the ER, and a police report was taken. The facility is short on staff, that result in limited to no supervision of patients. My father is in the memory care Unit, where I constantly observe patients going in and out of other patient rooms, while the aids linger and socialize near the front. These patients are constantly left unsupervised. There is no standardized training, and the aids often times have no clue of existing expectations. My father has been in the facility since September, and ALL of his clothes are missing; yes missing. The supplies that I bought (hygiene products, etc.) were used on other patients and are all gone (despite having them placed in a personalized box with his name!!). I am so overwhelmed and stressed and am actively looking for another placement. Caswell House in Yanceyville, NC is not at all an adequate placement for loved ones.

My Nannuh' has been here for a little over a year. My sister and I can be a handful (considering we are there every day) but I can assure you that the Caswell House and it's staff have always found time in their day to address our needs and provide EXCEPTIONAL care for my sweet sweet grandma. They have numerous activities to keep residents involved, entertained and smiling along with including family members and loved ones as well. I personally have worked in many different long term facilities and this one is by far the best in consistent care for all the residents. My grandma looks to the Nurses, Med Techs and NAs like her own grandchildren. That in itself speaks volumes on how well they treat and provide for her!

Despite the kindness staff I expressed to the staff to encourage them to be kind to my mother, she was scared and belittled, food was taken from her if she did to eat... she remained confused on what to do and they belittled her...she never had her own clothes on, she continually had scabies despite treatment...and one of her causes of death was mersa...The staff did not communicate at ALL as far as her finances were concerned..we were self pay patients, paying a considerable amount for good care for our mom....I do not recommend at all, the activity director did very little for the memory care unti, and though I was due a refund, it was been two months since my mother's death...and nothing! Turn over is horrible, caregivers are unfriendly and uncaring...

I started bringing my mom's clothes home to wash them myself. This was to keep her clothed together because her clothes keep coming up missing. I put a clothes hamper in her room and a sign on her closet and on her hamper that reads: Family will do laundry and her clothes still be missing. I want to know what the problem is, when the hamper is right there to put her clothes in. Every week, it is the same thing. Somebody is going to have replace her things, if this keeps happening.

Seriously understaffed with high turnover rates. Supplies to care for loved ones are virtually nonexistent. Very poor management that creates overworked and over-stressed staff. Modern facility that would be ideal with a much needed change in management. There is a management policy to "borrow" toiletries that were paid for by family members and given to other residents. Not recommended at this time.
