The facility is clean and comfy. Friendly and professional staff. We ate lunch on site and the food was tasty.

My dad lived at Silverado Turtle Creek for 18 months, until his death Nov. 18th. The care he received was respectful, gentle, kind, and friendly. We could not have asked for more. My father had previously been at three different facilities in Arlington and there was no comparison. Besides the exemplary staff at the facility, the physician who handles the medical needs of the residents is also kind and communicative with family members. That was important to our family and we did not experience anything near that at the other facilities. Those doctors refused to discuss our dad's medical problems with us. My dad loved the food at Silverado. It was the best I'd experienced. Families are welcome to join residents for meals, which we did often. It was something our family did regularly in the past so my dad really enjoyed "eating at the restaurant" with us. :) Silverado is more expensive than other facilities but the care, compared to places that don't cost that much less, is day and night. If you place your loved one at Silverado, I think you will be very pleased. And no, I do not work for Silverado. :)

My grandpa stayed there at that exact one. They took very good care of him and we're really nice to me all the time.

A family member admitted to their care rapidly (within several weeks) became the victim of terrible neglect and severe overmedication (with FDA-contraindicated medications), resulting in numerous falls with injuries (several serious, requiring ER visits with xrays and CTs to rule out fractures and intracranial hemorrhage), severe dehydration requiring IV fluid replacement, failure to ensure adequate and regular food and liquid intake, failure to treat a serious infection (almost resulting in death and requiring 5 days of intensive hospital care, with IV antibiotics), and within 3 months of admission, DEATH. This was a person who, upon admission, had dementia but was totally ambulatory, able to communicate and speak in complete and understandable sentences, dress self, feed self, and toilet self without assistance. Within 10 days of admission, and after being put on extremely high doses of both a short-acting form and the extended-release form of an antipsychotic, plus multiple daily doses of a benzodiazepine, and an SSRI, my relative had fallen enough times that Silverado staff confined her to a wheelchair 24/7 and she never walked again. Silverado at Turtle Creek is severely understaffed (a visit after 11 pm, revealed only ONE LVN and ONE patient care assistant to care for ALL of the residents). I once witnessed a resident, who was clearly unable to feed himself, struggle through an entire meal without being able to use utensils correctly, or get any food into his mouth - and staff were completely oblivious until I brought it to their attention (and I deliberately waited to give staff time to notice, and give them the benefit of the doubt that they were going to assist him without my prompting, but they never did). The nurse director, after questioning her regarding my relatives medication dosages, and her severe state of sedation, instructed staff NOT to provide any information to my family about our relative, and was extremely lacking in empathy or compassion. This FOR PROFIT business saves money by routinely hiring patient care staff with little to no prior health care training, and by limiting staffing levels. I would strongly encourage a lot of research before placing a relative in ANY assisted living facility, but most especially caution against placing any one you care about with Silverado Senior Living at Turtle Creek.
