Avenues Courtyard Assisted Living has an atmosphere unlike any other assisted living in the world! Residents quickly become best friends and enjoy daily activities together! The new administrator Joann is a dedicated, well suited person to continue to run a successful assisted living! The food is delicious and the staff do their best to provide residents with a healthy, safe, friendly, and fun atmosphere! Residents are treated as they deserve and show love for their home! All in all, avenues is an awesome place for your loved ones to feel home with ample assistance in daily activities! I love it there!

The Avenues Courtyard is a wonderful IL/AL community. What really sets them apart are the active residents that create a fantastic community culture, and the caring staff that tend to the needs of their residents. the community nurse does a fantastic job of keeping close clinical eyes on their residents and the staff does a wonderful job of thoughtfully walking their prospective community members through the move in process. Go by on any given day and you'll find the residents enjoy the music they have playing in the atrium green room. It's truly a unique and lively experience.

The "homey feel" that was once felt by a few residents was taken away when the owner, Kathy Call came into the building October 29 2018, was very rude and verbally abusive to the staff and residents. She told residents that they could no longer be in the COMMON ROOM doing what we enjoy. She doesn't know or understand this is our home and that residents have rights. One of those rights is to be happy in our home. Kathy Call can't tell us we have to quit being in the common room. I wrote a letter to the corporate office about the incident with the owner and no action was taken. I called ombudsman, our government advocate, who are taking action to defend our rights as residents. We are going to do what we continue to do that is enjoyable to us. This place doesn't want to accommodate the residents, they are fearful of making the owner angry. Not once in all this time has the owner offered an apology. I wouldn't recommend a place that doesn't care for their residents as much as they should. It's the residents who keep this place open for business.

My name is David. I have lived at Avenues Courtyard for two years and I have been very happy here. While I was attending college, I worked full-time for four years at a 40-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. I have a great deal of experience with people dealing with all types on mental issues. Jo Ann Werneth has worked as Administrator for a short time, but there is something I have observed: often patients get in the type of situation that I call "meltdown." All Jo Ann needs to do is spend one minute with them and she brings them totally "down." She is a pro at this! I am very glad that Jo Ann is at Avenues Courtyard.
