My mom has lived at Wellington for a little over 2 months and our experience has been very good so far. During our initial tour of the facility the staff answered all our questions and set appropriate expectations of the service and amenities they offered. The most pleasant surprise to me is how involved the administrative staff is with the residents. On many occasions when visiting my mom, I noticed members of the management team sitting down and visiting with a single resident or a group of residents. After my mom moved in, they made an extra effort in dropping by my moms apartment to see how she was doing and making sure she was aware of the activities planned for the week. They would introduce my mom to other residents and in time my mom felt more and more comfortable participating in activities and visiting with the other residents. The residents are quite friendly. I can't count the number of times a resident came and sat with my mom and I while we were having dinner or lunch. The center encourages family and friends of the residents to visit the facility and frequently host brunch or lunch. Guests pay for their own meals but my mom loves having the family visit and join her for meals. She said it makes her feel like she did when she was home.

The Wellington is one of the finest assisted living facilities I have ever seen! You can tell from the second you walk in that everyone there truly cares about the residents and takes a lot of pride in what they do. I have friends whose parents live here and they can't speak highly enough about the staff, facilities, and everything else involved. 5 stars all the way!

My mother was at the Wellington for 2 1/2 years before she passed away. Everytime I went to visit her I felt peace when I walked into the door. She was given great care, compassion and respect.

I had my family member at The Wellington for a short time this summer. I found the building to look nice, but that was very deceiving. First impression is very welcoming, but once we moved in we found a very different side of the facility. Everything that was promised to us was a complete lie. The nursing staff there was incompetent, never knowing what my loved one's needs were, the nurse I spoke to didn't even know who I was talking about. The CNAs complained to me that they were overworked and didn't have enough staff, they were short. I also overheard the CNAs frequently complaining about this as they were sitting around in the offices. And that they worked very long hours. I spoke to a CNA who said she had been working for 20 plus days in a row and was exhausted. One time, I was walking past a CNA who was giving medications and she was watching CSI on her cell phone while working--this was very scary to me. I spoke to the CNA's supervisor about my worries and complaints and was put off by her lack of education and professionalism (she smelled like marijuana and was covered in tattoos). However, she did promise to fix things. After some time nothing changed so I took my complaints to Scott, director. He promised me things would be fixed and spoke all the kind words to me like a car salesman. He did seem concerned and completely unaware of what was going on in the facility. After nothing changing AGAIN, and finding a CNA sleeping in my family member's apartment we moved out. This has been a very difficult time for our family and I wish we did not have to have gone through this. We are now in another facility in the area and are very happy. Look somewhere else for your loved one!! Other places are so much better! Don't make the same mistake we did by being fooled by the first look of the place.
