I don't usually write reviews but in this instance I feel like I need to because others need to know that this facility is not what it used to be. My grandmother was there several years ago after a knee replacement and she did very well there and the facility was great; no complaints whatsoever. My other grandmother however, was there in November and December of 2018 and for us the overall experience was terrible. During her stay, things were stolen, there were a couple of therapists that were hateful talking and pushed my grandmother so hard on her exercises that she was unable to stand for the rest of the day. We witnessed times that other residents were neglected during meal times. When it was very clear that they needed help being fed, they were instead left to fend for themselves and thus spilling most of their food and not able to eat a full meal. Once when the aid didn't realize anyone else was around my mother overheard a resident ask for assistance with her meal. The aid then rudely refused to help her then proceeded to announce down the hallway to coworkers that she couldn't believe that the resident would ask such a thing. Lastly, not long before my grandmother (who has dementia) was scheduled to leave, she took a bad fall that resulted in broken ribs and irreversible trauma to her body and mind. An aid left her in the room by herself while she was in the process of getting dressed that morning. She was supposed to have her shoes on but instead stood up in her stocking feet and slipped on the tile floor. I could go on with more stories of neglect but I hope I have made my point with what I have shared. There were great, caring, knowledgeable CNAs and nurses there, for which we are very grateful but overall I'm sorry to say I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

My mom was here off and on for 2 months before passing. During that time, she was treated with great care by all and I was made to feel like family. I used to have such negative feelings about nursing facilities, but Shenandoah has restored my faith. Most of staff has been there for a long time which says a lot. I'd recommend to anyone.

The staff at Shenandoah provided excellent care to my Aunt who was able to recover and return home. My Uncle remains at the facility for long term care. The staff provide excellent care and compassion to him daily.

Things keep going missing and no one can tell us where they are going and who is doing it. Trust, honesty, and communication are crucial.
